Start in Asturias is led by Sekuens, the Agency for Science, Business Competitiveness and Innovation, under the Regional Ministry of Science, Innovation and University of the Government of Asturias (Northern Spain). Sekuens is supported by four highly specialised entities: The Regional Society for the Promotion of the Principality of Asturias, S.A. (SRP) promotes the development of Asturian start-ups and SMEs, or those wishing to set up in the region, by providing them with financing; the European Business and Innovation Centre of the Principality of Asturias (CEEI) supports the start-up and growth of innovative and technology-based companies; the Sociedad de Garantía Recíproca de Asturias (Asturgar SGR), is a financial entity that provides financing to SMEs, the self-employed and entrepreneurs by granting guarantees; and Sociedad de Promoción Exterior Principado de Asturias, S.A. (ASTUREX) promotes a greater presence of Asturian companies in international markets.
